ATLANTA (January 18, 2012)— Georgia Aquarium and family-favorite musical group, Atlanta’s own Laughing Pizza, invite families to the grand Oceans Ballroom for a one-time, VIP family film premiere Saturday, Feb. 4 at 11:00 a.m. The award-winning band and world’s largest aquarium are teaming up for the world premiere of “Laughing Pizza: The Concert Movie” as well as a live performance by Laughing Pizza after the screening.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., guests will get the “red carpet treatment” with photographs, a VIP screening of Laughing Pizza: The Concert Movie, spectacular views into the world’s largest aquatic habitat, Ocean Voyager, as well as views into the charismatic beluga whale habitat from within the grand Oceans Ballroom. After the VIP screening, Laughing Pizza will perform a few of their hits and give guests the opportunity to meet Billy, Lisa and Emily, up close and in person!

Laughing Pizza is a real family band that writes and performs all original pop-music for families. Their music videos can be seen every day in more than 18 million homes on PBS stations and TV On-Demand channels around the country. This mom, dad and daughter trio travel across the nation performing at theatres, museums, music  festivals, nightclubs, schools, and other venues – including the White House (with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers).

Lisa and Billy are both classically trained musicians and former music teachers with a history of success in the grown-up music business – including a #1 Billboard Dance Hit and a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell. Emily, their 15-year-old daughter, plays multiple instruments including flute, drums, guitar, piano, and bass – and co-writes all of the Laughing Pizza songs with her parents. Jogging Strollers Recalled by B.O.B. Trailers Due to Choking Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: B.O.B.(r) single and double strollers

Units: About 411,700 in the United States and 27,000 in Canada (357,000 units were recalled in February 2011 due to strangulation hazard posed by canopy drawstring)

Importer: B.O.B. Trailers Inc., of Boise, Idaho

Hazard: The stroller canopy’s embroidered logo’s backing patch can detach, posing a choking hazard to babies and young children.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received six reports of children mouthing the detached patch. Gagging and choking were reported in two incidents. The backing was removed from the children’s mouth without injury. In each of the reported incidents, the children were seated in an infant car seat attached to the stroller.

Description: This recall involves all B.O.B. strollers manufactured between November 1998 and November 2010. Strollers manufactured after October 2006 have a white label affixed to the back of the stroller’s leg with the manufacturing date. Strollers with no manufacturing date listed were produced prior to October 2006 and are included in this recall. The strollers were sold in single seat and double-seat models. The BOB(r), Ironman(r) or Stroller Strides(r) brand name is embroidered on the canopy of the strollers.

Sold at: REI, Babies R’ Us and other children’s product and sporting goods stores nationwide and Amazon.com between November 1998 and October 2011 for between $280 and $600.

Manufactured in: Taiwan and China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers until they remove the embroidery backing patch from the interior of the canopy’s logo. Consumers should contact B.O.B. Trailers for instructions on removing the backing.

Celebrating the internationally acclaimed “Talk like a Pirate” day through a weekend of fun and free admission for buccaneers dressed in costumes

ATLANTA (September 12, 2011) – Walk the plank into Atlanta’s own ocean and journey alongside aquatic experts for Pirate Days, a weekend of pirate-themed festivities and events helping swashbucklers to better navigate and understand the seven seas, along with the creatures that inhabit them. Festivities will take place Sept. 24-25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and children 12 and under will receive free admission when dressed in pirate costume.

The world’s largest aquarium is celebrating Pirate Days with activities, giveaways and games for the entire family. Celebrations invite guests to dive in and enjoy special pirate costume contests, parades, “treasure hunt” extravaganzas, pirate-themed arts and crafts stations, buccaneer games and more. Eight out of Ten Parents Admit to Cursing in Front of Their Children

Waltham, MA (July 7, 2011) – According to a national survey commissioned by Care.com, Inc. (http://www.care.com), parents believe that cursing has become more prevalent in today’s society, particularly among children.  Eighty-six percent of parents who responded to the online survey agree – and 52% agree strongly – that kids ages 2-12 today are cursing more than when they themselves were children.

Care.com, Inc., the premier source of trustworthy family care options, including profiles of hundreds of thousands of babysitters, nannies, and senior caregivers, also found that while 93% of parents have made an effort not to curse in front of their child, eight out of ten reveal that they have cursed in their child’s presence.  Additionally, a majority of parents (54%) reveal that their child has cursed in front of them.  Twelve percent admit that the child was repeating a curse a parent had said, and 20% believe that the child didn’t understand the impact of what he or she was saying.

Nearly forty percent (39%) of the time, parents of a child who cursed blame other children, either from day care, a playgroup or older siblings.  More than a third (34%) blame television, games and movies, though nearly a quarter (24%) blame themselves or their spouses.

Despite the universal belief that kids are cursing more, nearly a quarter (23%) revealed that they were shocked to hear a child of theirs curse.  While more than three-quarters (77%) explained that it was a ‘bad’ word, ten percent laughed.

“Cursing is something that is definitely going to happen, and parents should know this is something to expect and not a reflection of being a bad parent,” said Care.com’s Parenting Expert and psychotherapist Dr. Robi Ludwig. “However, there are steps parents can take to stop the language before it continues, from creating consequences to monitoring the TV shows and movies your kids watch to correcting houseguests and encouraging the use of alternate words.”

The PSA was produced by HIT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading independent children’s entertainment producers, and the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a national organization founded by Lythgoe, director/producer Adam Shankman, “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and actress Katie Holmes, among others.  The Angelina Ballerina Stars of Tomorrow PSA will be part of the overall Dance 4 Your Life!, a new national health campaign that was recently launched by the Larry King Cardiac Foundation and the Dizzy Feet Foundation, and asks Americans to dance their way toward an active and healthy lifestyle.

From AB Stars dance programs hosted at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York City and the Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta, three young dancers each received a $2500 scholarship this past spring to continue their dance education.

“Through our PSAs and scholarship programs, the Angelina Ballerina Stars of Tomorrow program and the Dizzy Feet Foundation are reaching more and more youngsters who are embracing the power of dance,” said EJ Minor, Vice President, Marketing, HIT Entertainment. “We welcome Larry King as our newest ambassador to promote dance as a healthy form of exercise.”

The AB Stars program was inspired by Angelina Ballerina, a beloved publishing property created by Katherine Holabird and Helen Craig about a little mouse who works hard to reach her goals.  Kicking off last year, the AB Stars program helps raise awareness for the benefits of dance by providing classes to children.  Goals of the AB Stars program include helping to build confidence, inspiring creativity and promoting physical health, while making dance accessible to all children.
