A few weekends ago we enjoyed a day in the SNOW! What? In Atlanta? And the city didn’t shut down?! Snow, Atlanta, and fun are never used in the same sentence (typically). But this time was different.
Yes, we went to SNOW MOUNTAIN at Stone Mountain. I’ve talked about doing this every year for the last several years and this was the first time we made it out there.
It.Was.A.Blast. Seriously! A blast!
We bundled up. Head to toe we were covered in snow gear. Snow pants, boots, warm socks, sweatshirts, puffy jackets, hats, mittens, and scarves. Lets just say we ended up having to shed a few layers because honestly we were HOT. It was a gorgeous day with the sun shining bright.
Tubing was a blast! The boys were tall enough to do the single tubes, but Emma was not. So we decided to stick together and did the family tubing instead. The kids were a little nervous when we got in to the tube and looked down the run, but as soon as we started to go everyone loved it! Even Emma! She screeched and screamed and when we came to the end all three immediately said “That was awesome! Lets do it again!”
We did 3 or 4 more times.
Every single time was just as much fun as the previous time.
Then we ventured over to the snow playing area. Ryan’s activity of choice was building a snowman. That’s by far his favorite snow-thing to do.
Owen on the other hand wanted to do the smaller tube runs. He did them probably 30 times.
Emma joined in and liked that as well.
All Emma talked about doing during the days leading up to our fun snow day was making a snow angel. She would lay on the carpet in the house and practice making them. She could not wait to get to snow to make a real snow angel. And boy was she proud when she did it. All that practice definitely paid off. They were perfect!
We had such a fun day! I hated to see it end since I doubt we will be seeing any other snow this year in Atlanta.
Thank you to Snow Mountain for hosting a blogger event and inviting us all out with complimentary tickets. I can guarantee we will be making this an annual family event! What a great, great day.
For more information and to purchase your tickets, please visit the Snow Mountain website. They do recommend reserving your date/time for tubing in advance because the slots do fill up quickly. Now I can see why too – it’s a BLAST!
