Remembering Today

It’s been 21 years today since I lost my dad.  Does it get easier with each passing year?  Nope.  Not at all.  Like I said last year, it just gets different.

But this year there was a sort of comfort with the approaching date of his passing.  I was able to spend it with the entire extended family at the Woodtick Races.

Never heard of the Woodtick Races?  What?!  You mean every family doesn’t gather in the middle of nowhere around a bonfire and run through the woods to catch woodticks only to race them against one another?

What?! I thought this was normal in every family?!

I digress though.  I’ll share more of the specifics of the family gathering at a later date with photos to help illustrate the ridiculous fun had by all.  Today, I am remembering my dad.  And enjoying that we were able to spend the weekend with such a great family.  I mean, just look at this group!

We are so lucky to be a part of this amazing group of folks.  And today dad, I know we all miss you just as we have every day of every other year.  I know you would have enjoyed sitting around the old wagon wheel at the tracks playing a hand of poker.

I don’t think we ever forget the ones we loved but I am thankful for all of the wonderful memories of them.

  2. Wow–21 years? I guess I didn’t realize it has been that long since Uncle Fuzzy died. He was truly a FUN and FUNNY Uncle and he is missed!

I would LOVE to hear from you!
