Spring has Sprung

Spring is definitely here in Atlanta. We’ve already had quite a few days of 80+ degree temps. We’ve been spending every single evening and weekend outside burning off energy and doing yard work.

Last week while we were baking in 86 degree weather wearing shorts and flip flops some of my northern friends and family were dealing with snow. It reconfirmed why we’re not living up north. I may have very well cried (and I’m serious) if I was dealing with snow in late March.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely and positively love, love, love the Minneapolis area. Well, from May to October anyway. You can keep November to April. And I’m not saying that I wouldn’t ever move back up there again or that we’ll stay in Atlanta forever. I’m just saying that this year I am thankful to be here in the midst of Spring.

Mid-March in Atlanta looks something like this….

Tulips and daffodils are already in bloom. Our day lillies are bushy and green, but don’t have flowers yet. The grass is turning green and you hear lawn mowers on a daily basis now.

Most of our trees have full leaves on them already, but these two in our backyard are late budding for some reason. I just thought the pinks and greens in them were pretty cool.

Is it Spring yet where you are? Or do you still have snow on the ground?

  1. It is so crazy…
It was beautiful the other day…
    But yesterday was pretty chilly……
LoL, hopefully it will figure it all out soon!

  2. Argh! I am so jealous…this has been a particularly bad winter in MN! So much snow – and it hasn’t even been that cold. Just too much white stuff. Cannot wait for spring to hit the northern half. For now, I’ll have to live vicariously through you. 🙂

  3. Hey there! Just wanted you to know that I LOVE your blog! I am awarding you with the STYLISH BLOGGER AWARD! Hope you’ll head over to 3creativechics.com to check it out!

  4. Beautiful trees! No, it’s not spring yet here. It’s actually snowing RIGHT NOW. Yuck! I am so ready for Spring and gardening season, but I’ll have to wait 2 more (long, miserable) months before I can start planting outside.

I’m so sorry Aliceson!! I can’t even imagine seeing it snow right now. It rained this afternoon and I was bummed over that. Pathetic huh?! I have actually been thinking about you and your Monday Garden Club. Are you doing that again this year? I have started all of my veggie plants indoors (about 3 weeks ago already) and they are getting huge and ready to be moved outside. Unfortunately it won’t be happening until next weekend because of the rain today and tomorrow, but I’m more than excited to get these plants in the ground. Let me know if you are doing the garden club again. I’d love to link up! Let me know if you need a button created for this year. I’d love to make one for it 🙂

      • Yes, I am doing the Monday Garden thing again this year! I actually posted the first one last week with all of my seedlings I started in the basement. I’ll have another one up tomorrow and again the next week, lol. So, whenever you’re ready, join in! I actually figured out how to make a button for it this year with the same photo I used before, but I forgot to add text to the button. Perhaps I’ll try again now that I know how. Thanks for the offer though, and actually if I can’t make mine the way I want it, I might take you up on it after all.

I can’t wait to see your garden this year!

I would LOVE to hear from you!
