Third Snow Day Calls for Creativity

Remember on Sunday evening (via Facebook) when I was making fun of the city for shutting down prior to any snow or ice coming our way?

Well, we are now on Snow Day #3 and I’m not laughing anymore.  Yes, the date is from our first snow day, but I forgot to post it then so I’m posting now.

I’m not really complaining though; I’m actually quite content working from home and enjoying some extra time with my boys.  But we are out of butter and a few other staple items (like cold medicine for mommy!) so the option to leave the house would be nice.  And with each passing day it’s getting harder to entertain two toddlers and one grown man while being stuck inside.

On Snow Day #1 we were all excited to be cozy in the house with a fire going.

We had family game time……

We played GeoTrax and built several different rail systems throughout the toy room…..

We made Peanut Butter cookies……

And we played outside in the pure ice……

On Snow Day #2 I decided to potty train little man.

If we are stuck at home we might as well make our time useful, right?

On Snow Day #3 we had to get creative.  We walked around in mom’s super cool pink polka dot boots (on the wrong feet of course!)….

And we decided to use the GeoAir tracks as seat belts and run around the house doing construction jobs and sneaking Owen’s pee-pee potty treats….

Even Delta is starting to look bored.

I have a few more tricks up my sleeve to get us through the rest of our third snow day.  We’re going to do some painting and then we’re going to make hamburger cookies.  Yes, hamburger cookies.  Intrigued aren’t you?  You’re now wishing you were snowed in with us.  I know you are.  You don’t have to admit it out loud.

I wonder if school will be canceled again tomorrow? I’m going with probably.

It’s going GREAT! I’m glad I decided to just go for it. Putting him in underwear has definitely worked. Day 3 and he is now telling me when he needs to go. Only one accident yesterday and so far none today. WOOHOO!!

We are definitely making the most of being stuck indoors. It’s actually been fun. And we are saving money by not going anywhere and not doing anything 😉

  2. How is potty training going? I would love to be snowed in with yall. Looks like fun!

  3. Don’t forget about making a fort! Always always fun!
