To the Moon and Back

Last night Ryan was in rare form.  He was making jokes and laughing at everything.  He was being so sweet to his brother and would say things like “I’m so proud of you O-wee.” or “That was so nice of you O-wee.”

The best though was when we arrived at Target.  He looked at me so sincerely and said “Momma.  I love you to the moon and back.  You’re SUPER pretty momma.”

He melted my heart.  He brought tears to my eyes.  He made me so proud.

Then he added “Because I said you were pretty momma can I get out of the car first before O-wee? Pretty please?!”

Hmmmm….. so much for that melted heart and those tears.

But one thing is for sure.  I do love him to the moon and back.  I love him more than he could ever know.  Both of them.  They are unique and individual and they are both perfect.  Even when they are throwing temper tantrums and pushing my patience.  Even when they are not listening to a word I say.  Even when they are fighting with each other and not behaving.

I love them to the moon and back. Every.  Single.  Day.

  2. Ahhh…I love it! I have to remind myself that my daughter may not ever get how much I love her until she has her own…man do I love my babies, in fact it shocks me sometimes the powerful love I feel!!! I tell her I love her to the moon and back- and back again- and to the chocolate milky way..ha, it’s a play off some cartoon we watched together that started that. Thanks for sharing and giving me a ‘happy mommy moment’

  3. Once my dad and daughter were having a competition of sorts with telling each other “I love you to the moon” and “oh yeah, I love you as big as the sun!”

Then my dad says, “I love you all the way around Uranus.”

And no one has every loved that much again!

Very sweet story about your son. I hope I haven’t ruined the sentiment with my dad’s silliness!

I would LOVE to hear from you!
