Brotherly Love

There really isn’t anything quite like brothers.  I am always amazed at how Ryan and Owen interact with each other.  I love to see their differences and I love to see their similarities.  I love that they are complete individuals with such a common bond; such a common love.

And while up in Big Canoe, GA last weekend it was so fun to see dad-dad and his brother together.  I couldn’t help but think this would be Ryan and Owen years from now.

Ryan was amazed at how much dad-dad and Uncle John looked alike.  He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it actually.  He called Uncle John “the other dad-dad” and was completely in awe of him.  So was Owen actually.

Owen wanted Uncle John to hold his hand crossing the bridges on the Jeep Trail while hiking in Big Canoe.  And he would just look up at Uncle John and smile.

Ryan insisted on holding one of dad-dad’s hands and one hand of “the other dad-dad.”

It was a great hike with beautiful views.  We saw the old log cabin; a tree on its side; a few waterfalls; and some spider webs.

The weather was cool and there was no humidity for once. And we only had a few wet shoes (mostly mine!), a couple mosquito bites and one boo-boo which Owen was very proud to point out.

I know I’ve said it a million times, but I love Big Canoe.  I love everything about it.  It’s a cross between Minnesota and the Colorado Rocky Mountains.  So similar yet with a million differences.  It’s hard to explain.  You’d just have to experience all three places to fully understand what I mean.
