Tuesday Ten: Baby Book Edition

One of the items on my 30 things to accomplish in the next 60ish days is to catch up on Ryan and Owen’s baby books.  I’m a little behind on this.  Well, I’m more than a little behind.  I’m a lot behind.

With Ryan’s book I am somewhere around the 11 month mark.  He’s 3 and a half years old already.  That’s a lot behind.  With Owen’s book I have done a few random pages here and there over his life.  He will be two in August.  That’s a lot behind too.

My one saving grace is that I started this new year out trying to at least stay caught up on this year.  This current year.  So far I have completed January through mid April.  That’s not a lot behind.  Just a little.  Give or take 3 months or so.

Hmmmmm……. my track record isn’t so good right now is it?

I do have a reason for being so far behind though.  And it’s a valid reason.  Or at least I think it is.  Or maybe I’m only justifying my inability to stay caught up.  Nah,that isn’t it.  It really a valid reason.

I scrapbook everything. We take well over 500 photos a month and I tend to scrapbook every photo shoot.  Not necessarily every picture, but every time the camera comes out so does the desire to document it in Ryan and Owen’s baby books.

And here are my favorite ten pages that I have completed so far.

What do you think?  Which are your favorites?  Do you scrapbook  your family photos?  Are you caught up or are you desperately behind like me?  Do you have the same desire to scrapbook every photo?  Or are you better about selecting the best of the best and you only scrapbook those?

  1. I don’t know how I found your blog, but I am glad I did. I am like you in my scrap-booking – A lot behind. You have some really beautiful pictures and my favorite is also the one of your son on his stomach.

  2. I just wandered onto your site from blogfrog. What fun pages you have! I’m actually getting pretty caught up in my digi scrapping–I’m only two months behind! It’s a miracle! I love how you managed to use so many pictures, and yet it doesn’t look cluttered. My favorite is the one where your son is on his stomach–that is so adorable! Beautiful!

  3. I am so bad at scrapbooking. Really! I have ton of stuff but never get to actually sit down and do it! I’m like 4 years behind LOL my daughter is 5 and I was doing it on time only the first year LOL
    Love your pages!

  4. Typical Suburban Family says:

Andrea!! How did I not realize you had a blog?! I’m now following you 🙂 I love your idea of one page per night. And at that rate there is hope for me to someday be caught up. I’m also planning on taking a week off this summer and hope to get a lot of pages done during that time. We’ll see how that plan goes.

Laura – I love clean lines too. I’m a very simple scrapbooker and like the pictures to tell the stories. I like the emphasis to be on the actual pictures rather than too much business on the pages. You picked my all time favorite page. I love that page; it really makes his blue eyes pop!! Do you scrapbook digitally or traditionally? Would love to see some of your pages for new ideas 😉

  5. The scrapbook is WAY better than a plain baby book any day! We skipped it altogether and just did a scrapbook of all her first moments. My favorite page of yours is your blue-eyed love page. I like the how the dark background really showcases the pictures, and the simple title really says it all. I also really like the peek-a-boo page. Can you tell I’m a clean-lines type of scrapbooker? Lol 🙂 I have a really hard time picking photos to scrap, since I take over 300 in any given month. But the blog helps, because then I can sort through them to post on the blog, and I know which ones are a must, and which ones are just ones to keep in a regular album.

  6. I’m a firm believer that unless you don’t take pictures ( I take almost just as many!), have a housekeeper (don’t ya wish?) and can be a full-time stay at home mom (I’m starting to wish I could be) then there’s no way you can be caught up on scrapbooking. I do a book for each kid..and one family album..and I’m 2 years behind.. Just when I get caught up..or at least get a few months done.. LOL! then life just gets busy and I don’t get anything done for a few months. My goal now is to get off the computer more and watch less T.V. so I can get a page done every night. The good thing is that you have a wonderful blog to help with the journaling etc. Good Luck!
