Mystery Reader

This week is Dr. Suess’s birthday and Ryan’s class at Woodchase Academy has invited in guest readers all week.  Today, both mommy and daddy went to read to Ryan’s class.  Ryan was so proud he could hardly stand it.

Daddy did the reading (And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street) and mommy was just there for support (and to hold/snuggle Ryan).  Daddy did a great job and the kids enjoyed the book.  Ryan couldn’t stop smiling and hugging/kissing us.  He was very excited.  And very proud.

When I went to pick him up from school, the first thing he said to me was “mommy, thank you for coming to read to me and to read to my friends.  That was SOOOOO nice.”

Of course he had a little prompting with that one.  I didn’t realize that at first when I responded (with a tear in my eye because he was just so sweet) “Your welcome Ryan.  It was SOOOOO fun!  Mommy and daddy had SOOOO much fun.”

He responded with a shrug of the shoulders and “Oh.  Miss Brittany told me to say that.”

Have I mentioned how much I love this kid and how much he makes me laugh?!  Miss Brittany may have prompted him to say that, but I know he meant it.  He said it another 30 times tonight with a huge smile on his face each and every time.  He loved every minute of the special attention he received from mommy, daddy and his friends at school.

He really is a cool kid.
