Mustard Mozzarella Pork…

I’ve made this recipe several times and love it so I thought I would share with all of you. I have no idea where it originally came from so I apologize that I can’t give the appropriate website credit for it.

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 (6 oz) pork steaks
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons half and half
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 1/4 cup chopped mozzarella cheese

Heat butter and oil in skillet. Add pork steaks and fry quickly 3 minutes on each side.

Cover and cook gently 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove pork steaks to a shallow flameproof dish; keep warm. Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook 5 minute.

Add mustard and wine to onion mixture. Stir well, then bring to a boil. Boil 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in half and half and heat through gently. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon mixture over pork steaks and sprinkle with cheese. Preheat broiler. Broil 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling. Serve hot with lemon wedges, cucumber slices, celery and watercress prigs, if desired.
